Information for Clients without maternity care
You are pregnant and due between 01-05-2026 and 30-09-2026, and you have tried to register with multiple maternity care organisations for parental care. For now, none of these organisations have room to register you. You have likely been referred to this website by your midwife, insurer, or another maternity care provider.
The capacity for maternity care is low in this region, particularly during the holiday/summer period. All maternity care providers in this region will once again make every effort this year to provide every new parent with at least the necessary maternity care.
Central waiting list of the Amersfoort region
All maternity care providers are in contact with each other.
Through a central inventory, we can see whether and with whom there is still room for a maternity care registration.
If registration with a maternity care provider is not possible in advance, the waiting list manager for this region will arrange ad-hoc maternity care at the time your baby is born.
Step one: Registration waiting list
Through the registration form, we ask you to provide some important data. These details are safely received by the waiting list manager.
The waiting list manager will then ask among all maternity care providers in the region whether anyone still has an opportunity for registration.
Step two: Maternity care provider available
If a maternity care provider has space, you will be contacted for final registration with the relevant maternity care provider.
Step three: No maternity care provider available
If no maternity care provider reports that maternity care is available within 14 days, the waiting list manager will contact you around 30 weeks of pregnancy for an intake interview. You will also receive important information by email and/or through the digital portal to prepare for the upcoming birth and the maternity care period.
The waiting list manager will send out a request in the region again after the birth of your child.
Important to know
- Assume minimal maternity care hours and days. (3 hours per day over 6 to 8 days)
- The maternity nurse may not come until the afternoon.
- Change of maternity assistant may occur.
- We make an effort that a maternity nurse physically visits every day.
- Digital maternity care through image calling can sometimes be deployed in support of physical care.
- Take precautionary measures yourself by arranging informal care.
